Gender is a construct

drag has allowed me to explore the true self past the costumes, social expectations and stories we tell ourselves. after all, This whole place is an illusion, isn’t it? playing various characters has had the beautiful and unexpected consequence of ego dissolution and a return to faith (sikhi).

art as healing is a time old method, and it has been a great honour to experience this through “harddeep singh”, an emo freedom fighter.

Though i no longer take to stage in drag, this subversive queer art form will always live deep in my heart and i have the honour of giving workshops on “finding your inner king”.
